Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Oslo Welcome to Oslo, the stunning Norwegian capital! Upon arrival, we will visit one of the city's highlights, the National Museum. Here, you can admire notable artworks, including Edvard Munch's famous "The Scream." Explore Oslo's urban charm with a walk through its vibrant streets.
Day 02: Scenic Train Journey to Bergen Prepare for one of the most breathtaking train journeys in the world as we head to Bergen. This route offers spectacular views of Norwegian landscapes, a true delight for nature lovers. Upon arrival in Bergen, spend the afternoon exploring the charming Bryggen district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the famous fish market.
Day 03: Discovering Bergen and Travel to Skjolden Continue exploring Bergen and take the Fløibanen funicular for a panoramic view of the city. Then, we begin our van journey to Skjolden, where the tranquility of the fjords awaits. Along the way, we will take a ferry, allowing you to enjoy the experience of sailing through the calm, crystal-clear fjord waters. Arrival in Skjolden, "where the fjords begin," a peaceful place that will be your base for the next few days.
Day 04: Exploring Skjolden and Llamas We will start the day with a visit to Skjolden Llamas farm, where you can interact with the friendly llamas and participate in a guided walk. We will take a walk around Skjolden, exploring its natural beauty and absorbing the tranquility of the area. This walk will be an excellent opportunity to appreciate the fjord and the mountains that define this magnificent region.
OPTIONAL: Enjoy a rejuvenating experience in Skjolden by immersing yourself in Nordic wellness traditions. After relaxing in the warm sauna, dare to take a refreshing dip in Skjolden's icy lake. This contrast between heat and cold not only revitalizes the body but also improves circulation and strengthens the immune system. In the afternoon, we will visit the historic Urnes Stave Church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This wooden church is remarkable for its detailed carvings that illustrate Norse mythology, offering deep insights into medieval art and culture.
Day 05: Exploring the Nigardsbreen Glacier and Jostedalsbreen National Park We will travel through winding roads that cut through the heart of the fjords until we reach the national park, where we will begin with a guided hike to the Nigardsbreen Glacier, allowing you to experience the majesty of the eternal ice up close. After exploring the glacier, our journey continues through the stunning landscapes of the National Park, offering breathtaking views and the opportunity to be in direct contact with Norway's wild nature. This incredible environment promises an unforgettable experience, with panoramas that will remain etched in your memory. Return to Skjolden.
Day 06: Exploring Flam, Panoramic View at Stegastein, and Gudvangen Fjord We start with a visit to the Stegastein viewpoint, where we will be treated to a breathtaking panoramic view of the fjord. The height and unique perspective offer a spectacular setting, perfect for capturing unforgettable moments. After absorbing the views, we descend to the picturesque Flam, a true gateway to the natural wonders of the Norwegian fjords. We explore the charming village and then continue the journey to Gudvangen Fjord. This part of the trip promises landscapes of indescribable beauty, providing a complete immersion in the majesty of Norwegian nature. This day promises to be one of the highlights of our trip, filled with views that seem taken from a living painting.
Day 07: Rest in Skjolden and Visit to Foss On this last day in Skjolden, we will enjoy the serenity and natural beauty of this peaceful place to recharge our energies. Later, we will visit Fossbergom, a place enriched with culture and natural beauty. We will explore the historic Fossbergom Church, admiring its traditional architecture and the mountainous scenery that surrounds it. This visit offers a perfect opportunity to appreciate both spiritual serenity and the grandeur of Norwegian nature.
Day 08: Return to Oslo and Departure for Lisbon Enjoy the last views of the Norwegian landscapes on your return to Oslo, where we will also pass by the Borgund Stave Church. Departure to your home destination by plane.
Notes
Accommodation:
The stay will be in individual or double beds in shared rooms, as the experience is meant to be lived in community. Three different accommodations will be reserved: in Oslo for the first night, in Bergen for the second night, and in Skjolden for the following nights.
Meals:
Full board: Completely vegetarian meals, with vegan and gluten-free options. Meals will be organized by the group, and everyone is invited to participate in their preparation, experiencing one of the most important aspects: nourishing our bodies. We will take advantage of local products and seasonal offerings.
Transport:
9-seater van. Accompanied by Carlos Martins, who will provide guidance and transport throughout the tour, daily program, and logistics. The tour will be conducted in Portuguese.
